Do you feel depleted?
To the mom that feels exhausted and depleted because she’s living day to day not actually living out the purpose that God has put her on this earth for, other than being a mom. Being a mom is the best purpose that God could give anyone, but there is more. Do you want to live a fulfilled life?
There is more to your purpose here on earth than being a mom. God has called you to go into all the world and preach the gospel, whether that means in your neighborhood, through your church, in your family, it doesn’t have to be going to another country, that is what we are called to do! You can be fulfilled in your life and no longer walk through your day feeling defeated and depleted!
When you feel so depleted, exhausted, and worn out, waking up not wanting to do normal daily tasks, when you wake up feeling depleted before the day has even begun, one reason is because you aren’t living out the purpose God has called you to. You aren’t excited to do life because you aren’t fulfilling the calling on your life and you aren’t operating in the gifts God has given you, and you aren’t fulfilled doing basic tasks. Did you know you are called to more and you aren’t living that MORE you are called to, so it isn’t a fulfilling life?!
“If you are feeling unfulfilled in your life, it’s probably because you aren’t living out the calling God has placed on your life.”
Feel Defeated, Unfulfilled, Depleted? Find Those Dreams Again
There is this ache in our spirit when we aren’t accomplishing the dreams, visions, goals, and plans that God has placed in you. Where we have anxiety, where we have fear, where we face lack, we can become unfulfilled and that leads to overwhelm, anxiety, and depression.
God has big plans for you mama! I want to help bring you into alignment with God’s renewal, His restoration, His fulfillment in living out His calling on your life. You can partner with Christ, with his hope and peace, you no longer need to be partnered with fear and overwhelm.
Don’t Be Partnered with Fear and Overwhelm
So crap has been thrown your direction for too long. You have been in the trenches, struggling, depression and anxiety seem to be all your thoughts and emotions know these days. Things aren’t easy. You are living day to day struggling and life isn’t fun, passionate, fulfilling, or exciting. Things aren’t going to start changing until you put some effort into changing it. And it starts with your perspective.
“Things aren’t going to start changing until you put some effort into changing it, starting with your perspective.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 states “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
God didn’t create you to live an unfulfilling life. He didn’t create you to be passionless, and living in a state of anxiety and depression, constantly feeling depleted as you walk through life. His ways are much greater than ours and when we can start to shift our perspective to see things the way He sees them, our view on the situation can change. This leads to change in so many other areas. Your current situation in life isn’t going to change over night, but when you can see it from God’s point of view, you can shift your perspective on the situation, then it doesn’t seem so grim anymore.
It’s easy to get caught up in what we can see in the natural. But there is so much God is doing behind the scenes that we can’t see.
You don’t need to feel depleted from every day life
We are in a rental property with 5 acres and started our non profit called Restoration Ranch, an equine therapy for trauma victims. Our focus is on victims of human trafficking and kids in foster care. So we have horses and a lot of things going on here. Well, this rental is going to be torn down in less than a year to become storage facilities.
If we were to look at this in the natural, what we can see surrounding us and all the problems, it’s easy to get overwhelmed, frustrated, and filled with anxiety about what the future holds. But we aren’t functioning alone. We aren’t in this on our own, and we don’t have to figure it out by ourselves. My family is functioning in the role that God has called us to. This is HIS plan, HIS purpose, and so it’s HIS bill. We don’t have the ability to purchase the kind of property we need. Property costs have gone up so high over the past 3 years, that it is beyond what our financial capabilities are within a year. If we had 2 or 3 years, we could do it, but we don’t.
We have our family, our animals, our business, and no plan for where we are going. It sounds like a lot. And I could go on with all the problems it appears we could face within a year for our housing and ability to run this nonprofit. But I don’t look at the struggle, I don’t look at all that could go wrong. I look at what God can do! I talk so much about how God is a good God. It’s because it’s true! And my family has seen His goodness time and time again.
Shift Your Perspective to God’s Point of View
I have shifted my perspective to look at our situation from God’s point of view. Not seeing all the negative in the natural, but seeing the opportunity that God has to show His power, show His goodness, and show those around me how great He is! When we are in a position where we can’t do it on our own, like our housing situation, that is the perfect opportunity for God to move in a more mighty way than we could ever imagine!
So instead of sitting and stressing about what is going to happen in the next year, I am thanking God for what is going to happen, because I know it is going to be amazing, whatever it may be! It doesn’t mean I don’t act in the natural. When situations and opportunities arise we take them, when God opens that door, we have to take the step through, and while we wait for that door to open so we can act in the natural, we are thanking God for what is to come.
“When we are in a position where we can’t do it on our own, that is the perfect opportunity for God to move and show His power.”
Maybe you are dealing with a big unknown like us, or maybe you or a family member got a difficult diagnosis, or maybe you don’t know how your bills are going to get paid this month. Is everything in your life from the outside looks good but you are struggling in a deep way internally and you don’t know how to get out?
Shift your perspective.
No judgment or condemnation when you get in those moments. We all have those moments of feeling helpless, hopeless, depressed, full of anxiety, anxious, fearful, stressed, overwhelmed, angry, depleted, confused…..all the things.
When you get into those moments, it’s important to realize we can’t stay there. I am not perfect, and I have moments of anxiousness, or fear over the future, our home, my kids and their type 1 diabetes diagnosis, my health, my business, my non profit, but when that comes, I have to be intentional to not let it stay.
I tell my daughter constantly, it’s ok to have those emotions, but it’s what you do with them that matters, it’s how you conduct yourself, how you respond in a situation, and how long you linger in those emotions and it’s important to take those emotions to God.
Which leads me to my next point. You say, that’s all well and good. Shift your perspective. It’s easier said than done.
I know. It’s not easy at first, it takes intentionality and standing on the word of God. The next point is how you can practically shift your perspective.
Speak Truth and Get Rid of Defeat
2. Change the way you think and speak
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Cor 15:57
No matter your situation, give thanks to God! He has done great things for you in the past, and He is continuing to do great things.
Don’t speak out that depleted feeling. Find things to give thanks to Him for. Even if it’s as simple as thank you God that I am breathing, you have given me breath in my lungs and I am up and moving today. Thank you Jesus! Then the next day take it a step further. Each day find something new to be thankful for and thank Him continuously throughout the day. Be intentional. I know it’s not easy. There is actually some science around why.
The brain has these things called neurons which are responsible for sending and receiving neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that carry information between brain cells. These are formed and reformed throughout your life. Patterns, and habits, it all changes these neural pathways. Now, without getting too scientific, when you think and say things in a specific way for so long, it trains these pathways to go in that direction automatically.
For example, this is pretty minor, but say you see a sink full of dishes and every time you go to wash them, you tell yourself “I hate doing dishes, this sucks. No one cleans up after themselves, blah blah”, you are just negative Nancy in the kitchen doing the dishes. But if you are intentional in your thoughts and words when you go to do the dishes, and you start saying things like “I get to do the dishes so we can have clean plates to eat off of”, start saying positive things in association with the sink full of dirty dishes. It doesn’t change the reality of the situation, but it will, over time, start to change your thought pattern.
Be Intentional and get rid of defeat
Being intentional with the thoughts and words you say, will change your brain! It’s so cool how God created this!
“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”
2 Cor 2:14
You may be sitting in a difficult, or even dire situation in your life right now. Perhaps your emotions have gone to such a dark and negative place, you are filled with anxiety and depression and can’t see a way out. This is where you start. It might feel stupid when you are doing it because you can’t see what God sees in this situation, but start proclaiming truth over it! Thank God that He has given you life! Thank God that He has a purpose for you here on this earth. Give thanks to God for showing you what that purpose is.
Maybe you don’t see it now, but as you give Him thanks, as you start to retrain your mind, and you focus on God at the center of your circumstances, your perspective will start to shift, your depleted feeling will diminish. Then, before you know it, you are waking up thanking God for all the amazing blessings coming your way and for the lives that you are going to see changed around you because of what He is doing through you and your family.
You Can Live a Fulfilled Life!
Shift your perspective to focus on things above, not what you can see in the natural. God will blow your mind at the amazing things coming your way. You will be filled with joy and gratitude, and as you shift your mind to focus on God, on His perspective, to live in gratitude and expectation, not anxiety, to live in joy and not depression, your situation won’t seem so big anymore.
Speak life, speak truth, speak God’s word over your life and see what amazing things will happen!

Love you Mama!
